Based on the these two excellent guides, 3 Step Guide to Overclock Your i7 / i5 Haswell & Complete Overclocking Guide: Sandy Bridge & Ivy Bridge | *ASRock Edition*, I have a decent grasp on how to go about overclocking my system higher than 4.2Ghz (assuming i don't have a poor chip).

My system is, by the way:

i7 4770K, ASRock Extreme6, Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo.

However, I have a few technical implementation questions:

My motherboard has two Vcore voltage settings: Vcore Voltage and Vcore additional voltage offset. When setting the voltage to fixed 1.25v or 1.2v, is there a rule of thumb for dividing up the voltage between the two? Or should it all be on the Vcore Voltage?

I'm assuming for adaptive settings, after the overclock has been locked in, I'd want it divided up between the two.

Next there is also settings for the CPU Cache Voltage and CPU Cache Voltage Offset. I'm not sure if i should manually set these or leave them on auto. (If the guides talk about them, I completely missed that section).

Thanks for your help.

Solution
Easiest way to get started is by using the presets in the bios itself. Select the 4.4Ghz preset, Boot into windows and test for stability
