graphics cause games to freezse then start again

when I am playing games every few minets they freeze then the monitor says no signal then it all comes back on again.
I am curently using an AMD readon HD 7850, but this also happened with my old 6850 and with two different motherboards.

It might be a heat problem, what are the temperatures of your GPU? idle, load.... a good program to check the temps is Hwmonitor.

there is one on the front and back however there is also a door on the front that covers the vent. I tried leaving the door open then did the burn test again and it said that the fan was working at 90%, it crashed at 83C and it did not take any longer than usual.

Sound like a defective card, try returning it or replacing the thermal paste.
