Best Med-High to High Graphics card for my setup?

Currently I have a single Radeon 6850, overclocked, and I'm planning on upgrading to a GTX 760/770 maybe 780. Or should I wait for the newest AMD cards (8000 series)? I have a 460W stock PSU, I can upgrade the PSU IF needed that's no problem. Apparently the GTX 760 only uses 170W at full load which is less than my current card, the 6850. Any thoughts? Thanks !

I would highly recommend the GTX 780. It is quite expensive but it's worth every penny. It can tank through pretty much any game out there right now at max graphics. That is of course if you have a good enough processor to support it without it bottlenecking. Your processor looks like it could do that though. You would have to upgrade your PSU to something in the 600W+ range to run it.

Hi - You can probably run a gtx760 with that current PSU, but if you upgrade to 770/780
then you will need to upgrade the PSU. It is highly unlikely that PSU has anywhere near the
+12v rail/amps necessary for those cards. The 670 requires a few more(30 vs 25) +12v amps than the
6850, so a PSU upgrade is advisable even with that card.

Hi - sorry - I can't predict what future gpu's/motherboards will be configured in
relation to the PCI-E slot compatibility/performance.

The cards you are considering now will work with your current setup.

Alright, so I won't run into any problems ! Great ! One more thing, where can I see the amperage data for my PSU? It's a very plain PSU, and there isn't a fan on the bottom or top, it's on the pack, nothing like what they are now. It's manufactured from some tiny company, HP's really cheap. I think I should upgrade my PSU, do you have any suggestions on good ones? By the way, my PSU dimensions are 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

Hi again - there should be a sticker affixed to one side of the PSU where it lists
the power specs. Being a prebuilt, it's conceivable HP has chosen to omit it.

That PSU is a std ATX/PS2 in size, so any widely available Quality PSU's will work.

What is your budget for a PSU? and where are you located? a system with a
gtx760 will run fine on a quality 500w unit.

If you live in the US, this is a gr8 deal running right now:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013 nets to $40 after promo & mir
XFX pro550 (Seasonic built)

If you live elsewhere, let me know & I'll try to find one for you.

My budget is around $100, and i'd like a psu that is above 600W because of future upgrades, i'm from Canada by the way, but it's all similar i'm sure. The thing is my case is very "tricky", the wiring is all jumbled and there isn't even that much space even though it's a mid-size ATX case. I'll post links to the pictures below;

Hi - a lot of the wiring clutter can be reduced if I can find you a modular PSU within your budget:

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=62826&vpn=CP%2D9020040%2DNA&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1316
more power than you need, but modular, 5yr warranty, sale ends tomorrow.

Also modular & has $15 mir

The 1st one is a better deal. There are other sale PSU's, but I stayed with modular to
reduce your wiring clutter.

The problem is these PSU's have braided wires which are too thick, if you look at the pictures I linked of my internals, you can see even HP installed it very "tight" and the optical drive behind takes up a lot of space so that's a problem, HP put a PSU with the wires having plastic wire ties, which makes it smaller. Those Corsair PSU's also won't fit, they must be exactly 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches), and the ones you linked are 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 160mm(L) 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 6.3"(L). There's a little bracket at the back of the PSU which "holds" the PSU, maybe it's for vibration reduction, I'm not sure, but it can't go further down the case, it has to be more "compact" yet standard size. (ATX)

True - they are thicker & braided. Keep in mind you will use fewer cables as you
use only cables actually needed, no extra or unused cables. Take a look at all the
extra cables you now have.
However,if it will fit is a decision you need to make.

Yeah, are there any PSU's that aren't with braided cables? Also, I'll look at the cables I don't need, but I think it's not much. Hopefully, it'll fit, which PSU seems best suitable.
