Hello! I have two basically entirely different questions here so bare with me. Also, you may notice that I have 2 other threads the same as this one but the first post I forgot to mark as a question and it posted twice for some reason.
First, I'm building a system in which I will use a 128gb SSD as my boot drive and a 2tb HDD for all my data. What I want to have on the HDD is pretty much everything that isn't the OS and other system files (which will remain on the SSD). So my questions regarding this build are, one, how will i set that up and configure everything correctly? And two, how will I make sure everything goes on the HDD? I've already read some forums and guides about moving some folders like 'My Documents' and the other main libraries permanently to the HDD, but how will I keep my programs and program files there? Will there be any directories like the program files folders? Otherwise, any advice or important things I need to know before hand would be great.
Second, I'm currently in the process of refitting an old desktop (a Dell Dimension 8400 manufactured in 2004), and it used an old 80gb HDD with Windows XP Media Center Addition 2005. What I plan to do here is add a new 500gb HDD on which I will install Windows 7 Pro x64, so I can use that as my primary drive and I'll be able to access my old HDD (the one with XP) whenever I want because it had a ton of my files on it that i don't want to lose. So I guess what I'm asking here is if that is a sensible plan? And will there be any complications going back and forth accessing both drives with different OS's? And again, any other information on THIS matter would be much obliged.
Thank you for your time!
