I did a i7 920 build a couple years back with 12 GB RAM. Sped it up with a couple of SSDs and added 6.0gb sata cards. I am retiring it to a server so I need a new build. I was thinking the new Haswell 1150 i4770K with 32gb of memory (either 1600 or 1866) with an Asus Sabertooth z87 motherboard. My other choice would be the older i7-3930K LGA 2011 chip on the the X79 sabertooth motherboard, and then load up on more RAM, even up to 64gb. I heard more cores and threads are more important that speed. I want it to last a couple years at least for photo and video editting. Somewhat concerned over going to a 4Q11 chip over 2Q13. I have windows 7 pro for the build. I would want as many 6gb sata ports and usb 3.0. The x79 will cost a bit more, but may be worth it. No gaming, will not overclock as stability is more what I am after. Any help on this is appreciated.

I have a Sapphire 7850 GPU which has OpenCL. I m leaning towards the Haswell processor (i4770K) build as it is newer technology, boards, USB 3.0. I realize the 2011 boards can do this as well, and more ram (both slots and total GB) may help, but 32 gb ram of DDR3 at 1600 0r 1866 should be more than sufficient. Looking for stability over pure speed or overclocking. Not sure if Photoshop CC will change anything as well.
