I was looking to see what screens specs would appropriately handle the power of the PS4, Looking for a bedroom size TV around 30"
I don't know much about the refresh rate and or resolution stuff, LED or LCD? whats cheaper? Things I need to look out for when buying a new screen? And if buying any specific brand gets you that bang for your buck.

Any good affordable ideas?

First off, 1080p (Full HD/1920x1080) hands down. From there, you may want to wall mount it at some point, which is a lot easier if all the important cables come out sideways.

LED is a misnomer; technically they're LED-backlit LCDs, as opposed to CCFL-backlit LCDs. LED is generally preferable though.

Picture quality is the main thing; you want one with relatively little motion distortion, and good colour reproduction.

Looking in a store is a good idea, or reading reviews online.
