I have a NeoPower 650w Blue modular PSU that I received from a friend. He didn't have all the cords to send me so I'm scrambling to find a 6pin PCI-E power cord to hook up to my gtx 465 from the power supply. The only problem is the PSU takes a version 1 PCI-E power cord to hook up to the modular slot, while the gtx 465 takes a version 2.

I'm wondering if I can just connect a dual version 2 pci-e power cord to the power supply and video card, or would it not supply the required power to the card? The version 1 to version 2 cord is apparently impossible to find. Also, I would probably have to break off the plastic clip to the version 2 pci-e to get it to fit into the power supply slot, as it is larger and off-center.

Sorry, but I don't have any spare cables running from the PSU or the modular slots to use the 2x molex to 1 PCI-E trick. Every cord is used up!

Version 2 should fit wherever a Version 1 would fit because the only pin that is a different shape is the middle pin closest to the latch.

A D shape will always fit into a square shape but not the other way around.
