Best CPU for Gaming and Streaming

Hello everyone,

I've done some digging through the forums and found that generally speaking the i7 processors are useless for gaming because they don't provide an improvement over the i5's in terms of gaming performance. I was wondering if this also holds true with streaming? Or would the multitasking capabilities of the i7 processors help me out performance wise when I'm trying to stream the games I'm playing?

Right now I'm basically looking to build a rig to run WoW on max settings and stream it The main point of contention has been the CPU. I'm wondering if I should go with the i5-4670K (3.4GHz) or if I should be looking into a i7-4770k since I plan on streaming.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and reply! :)

I think a i5 would play and stream wow just fine, and matters on what ur using to stream but i think most or some will use HT, teksyndicate made a video with streaming with a fx 8350/i7 etc last gen i7s with using xsplit and showed fps i think with a 7870 gpu.

WoW isnt the most cpu intense game so if u set ur recording/streaming settings correctly right then i dont see an issue but then again i never had to urge to stream my gameplay, just going off some previous knowledge
