When I plug in my D-Link dwa-125 usb to my notebook, it connects easily to my d-link dir-601 router. But my Dell notebook's built-in adapter(g) can't...it sees the routers network(b.g.n) but can't connect when asked to.

It receives the D-Link wireless networks signal pretty well but can't complete the connection.

I'm thinking I've got some simple setting wrong somewhere on my notebook.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks

FWIW. I tested the Dell's built-in adapter with my library's wi-fi and it worked fine. This was after the non-connection problem began with my D-Link router.

It can only operate at the 'g' level protocol but it's always operated with no issues before.

Thanks. I'll check into the MAC settings on the router. It would be nice if I could get the notebook's built-in router to work and not require the usb adapter.

I'm still hoping it's some setting I've set up incorrectly with the Dell's built-in adapter (due to not knowing what the settings actually do).

It's running XP.
