I have a P8Z77-V Deluxe M/B, CPU i&-3770K, LG Blu Ray Writer, hooked up to a Sony Bravia HD TV.
I am curious as to whether the onboard video will run BluRay, or is it a driver problem.

When I upgrade to the latest drivers the TV screen goes black until I do a system restore. I have sent an email to ASUS technical support and they said to run the BluRay advisor, which I had alreay done before I sent them the message.

The advisor says that I have a standard VGA graphics adapter.

Is BluRay the same as HD in ref to the intel HD 4000 graphics and tru 3d technology?

Is the specs on the onboard graphics misleading or is it saying what it is capable of with an added graphics card?

I plan on getting a GTX680 when I can afford one, but in the mean time I will have to do with what I have .
Thanks for any help to clarify this.

Navigate to the ASUS Support page for the motherboard and download the display driver from there. Install that and see if it helps. Don't use Windows or third party tools to grab the drivers.

I honestly didn't give it a go, I have a HD Monitor /TV that is hooked up to the other pc. I just assumed that it would be able to be able to run the bluray dvds as standard without an additional graphics card. I took the dvds back after trying for 2 days of upgrading and deleting drivers. I ran Systweak Advanced System Optimizer, so I don't know where it pulls it updated drivers from. I will have a dig on the intel site.

Probably conflicting issues with the drivers/tvand video, I dont really know. I updated the driver through device manager and it said it was updating to the HD 4000 driver. After rebooting it comes up with a black screen going through the different resolutions then the bios screen then black,
I reboot from the win7 cd do a system recovery and back to what it was.
1280x1024 generic PNP monitor on standard graphics adapter.
I originally got the Blurays to watch on the PS3 but it decided to throw the towel in (hasnt been used for months) so I decided to try the PC and have been wasting a bit of time trying to sort it out.
