More about building budget gaming rig 000 inr
  1. here are my recommendation
    1)buy fx 4300 or fx 6300 if the budget allows it do not get bulldozer chips for gaming

    2)go with asus mobo it supports higher frequency memory though u will need a bios upgrade

    3)get gtx 650 ti boost 1 gb it is a very good budget card but get a better brand even gainward will work

    4)get cx 500 as nvidia recommends a 450 watts power supply for gtx 650 ti boost though cx 430 will not be a problem

    5)lot of people will recommend 2 memory sticks(2x2gb) for using dual channel but i will recommend getting a single stick(1x4gb) as it will give u a better upgrade path u can get the same memory stick and just add it later

    A bit above 28k but this'd be my pick for a balanced gaming system:

    AMD 4.4 GHz AM3+ FX 6-Core Edition FX-6300 ( 50% better than a 4300 but cost only 700 INR more )
    Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT ( sufficient for housing a 6 core FX plus a graphic card )\
    Galaxy NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650TI (Boost edition) 1 GB GDDR5 ( best in this price range, with its performance close to a HD7850 )
    Seagate Barracuda 500 GB ( trying to lower the total cost here, so lets just stick to a 500gb HDD )
    Corsair CMPSU-430CXV2UK 430 Watts PSU

    Amount Payable:
    Rs. 28886

    As for ram, even a single 4gb ddr3 1333 bar will do the job well, and save you some money. No need for dual channel 1600mhz.
  3. The fact remains that Rs 30000 is never going to be enough for a half-decent Gaming Rig. I started my new build a fews days ago and found it absolutely impossible. But I understand that most people cannot afford more and have to make do with what they have.
    I also want to emphasise that your accessories matter too. You should buy a decent mouse + mouse pad as well as invest in a bigger monitor. These will give you a better experience than a faster computer.

    So a few pointers (from my experience):
    CPU + mother board = 10.4k
    ALWAYS go to the motherboard homepage and check to see if the CPU is supported specifically. I would say that go for an i3 3210(7k) with a cheap motherboard. Cheap mother boards for Intel sometimes do not support 1600 Mhz RAM. ASRock H71M-DGS seems to be the cheapest one available with support for 1600 RAM. I would say go for it. Your choice of Fx processors and mobo will not do you any good.

    Storage = 3.8k200
    buy the 1Tb hdd. there is no loss of performance and for ~ Rs. 600 more you are getting twice the storage.

    SMPS = 2.7k
    Corsair CX 430 will be more than enough. you can even go for the VS 450 if you want to save Rs 200 more. It won't make a difference to performance. Since our budget is very low we need to squeeze out every rupee :P.

    GPU = 12k
    Galaxy 650 Ti boost. (there is a slight increase in performance from Ti and Ti boost. GPU matters in a gaming config)

    RAM = Rs 2.1k
    4Gb Kingston Hyperx

    All this gets you upto Rs 31000

    Now, Invest in a good Mouse + mouse pad : Rs 1500. if you cannot afford this - reduce your cabinet budget to Rs. 1000 and buy a cheap cabinet and spend money on this.
    Buy a 20' monitor at least with 1920x1080 resolution to get the best gaming experience.
    Do not ignore the above two points. You can spend a bit less on the graphics card and get a 650 instead if you are scrapped for money.

    Hope this helps.
  4. After reading the solutions I came to some conclusions. Still not sure of it. As Madn3ss795 and RohithNaik suggested I am going for the GTX 650 Ti Boost and 430CXV2 PSU. As of the Processor, I am updating my list with the FX-6300 since it seems the best option for me. And also of the RAM, I am choosing 2 x Transcend DDR3-1333/PC3-10600 DDR3 2 GB. It just fits the budget. And if I go for Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT it would be the best budget option. I don't really care for the HDD since both of them suits the budget and performance. I will just take any one of them. Now coming to the most important part. I agree with RohithNaik that I should also spend some money over the accessories.

    The Cabinet still isn't chosen. I cannot find a budget cabinet online. So, I think I have to look for it offline. What do you suggest?

    RohithNaik, considering your point of view I should go for a HD monitor but I can't find any within 7.5k. I found Dell S2240L 21.5 inch, but Its over 9k, which isn't affordable. For now, I am keeping an watch on Dell IN2030M 20 inch, Samsung S20B300B 20 inch, LG 20EN33TS 19.5 inch and LG E2042C 20 inch. All of these are of resolution 1600x900. How are these? As of now I am also looking for Monitors offline [<= 20inch and 1080p HD].

    Mouse & Keyboard
    How about this : Logitech Gaming Combo G100. I have no idea on these. Please suggest.

    My overall budget is around ~40k.
  5. Case : just any mid tower would do. Just find a solid one that won't bend easily.

    Monitor : one with 1600*900 resolution would do just fine. A 650ti boost won't do well at 1080p/fullHD. LG one would be my pick from the 3 monitors above.

    Peripherals : G100 is a good combo, especially the mouse, which is even greater than Razer's Abysuss or Steel Series's Kinzu. The keyboard is a little slim and can get uncomfortable at time, can't blame since it only worth a bit over 5$.
  6. Thanks.
    And If that's the case how would be the Dell monitor that I mentioned before. My first choice is LG though. But since I have to buy it offline I cannot trust on myself much.
  7. I don't find Dell monitors having great image quality unless it's an Ultrasharp. Personal experiment. If you have to buy the LG one from a local store you should check if there are any scratches, even the smallest one on both the monitor and its stand. Check if there are any dead pixels also. If there's one and you forgot to return it within that day, the store may blame that it's you who scratched it and void your warranty.
  8. Hey, The keyboard is not really that important according to me. I usually play DoTA, AoE and CoD. As well as many racing games. I also have a G27. I never found my cheaper keyboard lacking. Go for a Mouse + Pad Combo. A Rs 300 - 400 keyboard does wonders. Buy the G100 and a Steel Series Pad with a cheap Rs 400 keyboard.
    I agree that monitors with Full HD are expensive. I didn't check the price before replying to your thread. I really have no idea on how to grade monitors. I am sure you will figure it out.
    BTW you will get many decent cases from Zebronics and Frontech which will do the job well. They cost very less too. However you will have to go search your local stores. Try if you can. BitFang also tries to give a really good offers.
    The Fx-6300 is a good choice. Make sure that the processor is included in the CPU support list of the motherboard. BTW I finalised all the components for my new build - hurray for me :).
  9. Suddenly the HDD and the RAM costs are in rise! The WD 1TB went up to 4.15k! There is a 1 TB Barracuda at 3.9k and another WD 1TB[Green] at 4k.. But I am decided on the 500GB Barracuda. Plus the ram went up about 50 bucks.

    Anyways, Most probably I will be visiting the local stores within a week to check the Cabinet and I plan to check for a good Monitor too. I will try to keep it within LG, which had been my priority from the beginning. And I do have experience on Monitor and TV[etc.] purchases. I know whats their problem. So, Its OK. :) Over the Cabinet matter, I got some suggestions for a cheap Frontech one.

    Over the Mouse-Keyboard, I think I have the correct choice; the G100 mouse itself costs 1.3k but I get the combo at 1.8 k making the keyboard cost 500 which i think is cool. And also I checked out the Gigabyte site for the chosen Mobo. It supports the FX-6300.

    And @RohithNaik, Congrats on your PC. :) I hope to get mine done soon. Though I can wait for couple of months before it.

  10. get a cheap cabinet like cooler master K281 or cooler master elite PLUS which is <rs.3000.
    and for the HDD, u can get 1TB WD around rs.3600.
    Building a gaming rig is like a sin for gamers as the prices are too high.
