This is a Window 7 64bit OS. Upon booting The pop up message device detector is appearing. I would inquire if the device detector is hardware or software. How can one troubleshoot this issue. Guidance sought

Since I can not find any BAD programs on your laptop and I do not know if this site has any Security Experts, I recommend you go to this site. Read the first two threads, then post a thread on that forum.

I know you have AntiVirus software, but that does not mean something didn't get through. If nothing else, it can't hurt and they might just find something. If they don't find anything, come back here and we'll try something else.

Sometimes these things are a matter of elimination. Good Luck.

If you did not modify the appearance of the Device Manager, then the DM looks good. I do not know where that Device Detector popup is coming from. I suspect you have a program on your computer that is causing, because I do not think Win7 is doing it.

Can you post an image of the "Programs and Features"? It is in the Control Panel section. You might have to create two images to to show all the programs. I am hoping I'll be able to research and identify a program that is causing this issue.
