Mode Configuration of HDMI Port

Hi Guys, I currently own a Lenovo Ideapad. I wanted to connect my Raspberry Pi with the monitor. As per the specifications, after connecting the kit a screen should pop up which didn't happen like that. I guess there should be some issue with the input and output port setting of HDMi in my laptop. Can anyone suggest that what mode is in by default and what kind of changes I need to make. Thank You. I appreciate your efforts

The hdmi port on a laptop is generally output only, for connecting to an external monitor. I don't think you can change that via software or BIOS settings, because it's hard-wired in the associated chips and traces. I suggest you look for an usb video capture device that supports hdmi.
