Need help with cpu power connector

Hi all i need help hooking the cpu power connector this is my mobo

the mobo has a 8 pin and the power unit has a two 6 + 2 cords which the the 6 hooks up but not the 2 which is really irking me so any advice would be more then welcomed

I believe you are trying to connect the PCIe power connecter in this slot, which is incorrect.
In the picture of your PSU i see 2, 4 pin connectors. These are the connectors you want to use.

If you look carefully one of the 4 pins has a little shoulder that slots with the other 4 pin to make them into a 8pin. Its exactly like the 4pin and 20pin main power connecter to make a 24 pin connector. Don't worry about plugging it in, all of the power wires on the PSU are "keyed" so they can only fit into the correct slot, and there is no way to plug then in wrong or backwards. If it fits its correct.

Many lower voltage boards or older boards only need 1 4 pin connector.
