I got a new Dell Haswell i7 with a Radeon HD 7570 in it - which I am sure is an entry vid card. I have a GTX 285 in my old system, which was a decent video like 2 years ago. Which vidoe card should I use, the Radeon or the GTX in my new system?

More about : gtx 285 radeon 7570

Interms of speed, GTX285 is miles faster - not even in the same league.

Wow, that was not what I was expecting to hear. I figured even an entry level card today would be better than a mid level card I bought 2 years ago, but not so much, eh?

I would say the gtx 285.....It is much faster than the hd 7570 and almost on par with a hd 7770...But I don't think the gtx 285 will work on the PSU in your new comp unless dell was generous enough to give you a high capacity PSU.
What is the PSU BTW??

Good catch, the GTX 285 needs 2 special power plugs plugged into it that the Dell PSU doesn't have. (I think the Dell PSU is a HU460AM-00, 460 watt.)

I may need to move my power supply over too then, eh? Seasonic SS-650HT, 650W.

Is this site at all correct? It seems to indicate that they are equivalent, but I don't know this site form adam or whether to trust it:

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7570-vs-GeForce-GTX-2...

Nevermind the site, the numbers on the site indicate the 285 is better, dont know why their rating doesnt.

Good choice! Seasonic are as good as it gets. And yeah, people often assume anything newer will be better, but it's not always the case. It's especially different when you're comparing a card that was absolute top end (like your GTX285) to an extreme budget end card that has the processing power of cards from over 5 years ago.

EDIT: And no, don't trust GPU Boss :-) It's little better than that HW Compare site.

OK, then, will transfer vid card and PSU.

Thanks.

The review in the site was rubbish....The gtx 285 is atleast twice as powerful as a hd 7570 if not more.
