Hi
stupid error on my part which I am sure has an easy solution, I just don't know what it is!
Did a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit on a hard disk that I tought was the master. It was the slave, and when I changed it to the master it now won't boot without manually selecting it in the BIOS
Please help
Thank you all so much
Rick

then a sata drive could not be set as a master or slave ,did you plug that drive on the first available sata slot on the motherboard and what is the letter this drive give in the drive management did you set it as first boot device.the other thing when you put the os on the bios was set ide or ahci for the drive .

Thanks for the input
Scout_03 not really sure what you mean Cable select? Sorry for being dense
jcurry23 Sorry, should have said, they are SATA drives
Anon1 I have changed the choice in BIOS (F12) but don't know how to make it permanent. It asks the same thing every time after telling me ntldr is not present
Thanks again
