Since installing new processor, problematic sound!

Hi. Might be a coincidence (doubt it though), but since I have installed my new processor, my sound has been playing up. I have both rear and front panels on the machine, with audio out jacks. No matter what combination of speakers or headset I try in both, only the left headphone/speaker will work.

I have tested these on alternate machines and they work 100% fine. My microphone no longer works (in either rear or front) and my subwoofer does not output anything either.

I have checked all internal cables and everything is hooked up as it should be. It can't be the audio out connectors themselves, as the problem is identical on both.

I have updated/reinstalled/tried alternate audio drivers. I have checked all sound setting. The balance setting is correct.

The only things I have left to try are to reinstall windows or try a system restore (but am reluctant to do so for it still might not work after all the effort). I'm thinking it might be an issue with the motherboard, however it is relatively new (under 6 months) which leaves me very confused.

Machine specs:

Asus M5A99x EVO mobo
Geforce 560Ti GPU
AMD FX 8350 8 Core 4Ghz

Thanks a lot, regards Alex.

My bad, skim read the whole thing. haha Anyway, it's unlikely that you grounded something in the mobo. I haven't heard of any damage in the mobo due to human static sh**. I guess the only way is to backup everything, then fresh install of win7..

Just done fresh install of Windows 8 on the machine, no change. Same problem as before. Running out of ideas - help!

Update: If I pull the headphone cable slightly out, both ears work. Microphone now randomly works. Cant try that with speakers because I get a loud buzzing noise when I pull the cable out slightly.
