I am still getting used to what to expect from SLI. I have a question as to how the GPU's determine how hard to work. I would think this would be based somehow on the refresh rate? Im asking because When I run the Metro Last Lite bench I get good results 73FPS with full settings and Physx no SSAA. The reason for the question is at one point the FPS drop to 45 or so and the cards are showing they are only at 70% usage each. If the FPS is 45 and both cards have plenty of room left shouldent they just ramp up closer to 100% so that they could get closer to at least 60FPS?

It happen, even with a single card you get these spikes where you experience FPS increase and decrease, you can set it at a fixed 60 FPS so you do not experience these spikes.

Thank you for your reply. Are you talking about Vsync? Other than that Im not sure how I would set it to a fixed 60FPS

I am not sure if you can do it manually in NVIDIA software(Latest one) but in some games you are able to keep it fixed by setting it in the option menu.

Im not super sure that is the fix as the cards are acting like that is the most FPS they can push out but showing only 70% usage leading me to believe that they should be able to do more. In other words with only one card anytime I get less than 60 or so FPS with all the settings fired up its at 99% usage now at 45FPS the cards are at 70%........While typing this out I thought could it be that my 3770k is the bottleneck here somehow and thats why the cards are at 70% with lower than 60FPS?
