I went to my program, right clicked, and then clicked "open with", a screen popped up and then I chose internet explorer without thinking and now I cannot open any of my programs. instead of the program logo at the taskbar, it just shows the internet logo, how can I get it to where I can see the program logo and actually open the program?

What file did you try to open?
There is a difference between programs and files. Programs are used to open files, and files usually have the icon of the program that opens them by default (i.e., if you have a mp3 file and by default you open mp3s with VLC, then all the mp3 files will have VLC's icon).
What you need to do is repeat the process you did and pick the correct program as default. Automatically, similar files (same type) will get that program's icon, as well.
