My computer was acting up so i read to do cmos clear. Did that now i cant set my master and slave drive to what it was before so when i restart is says OS not found. I already set my boot priority to HD first.
I know it was set to master and slave originally but now it is showing
Primary IDE master none
Primary IDE slave none
Sata 1 st3320620as
sata 2 st3320620as
sata 3 non
sata 4 asus drw-2014.

Built computer a few years ago and had a friend help me set bios for me.
Asus p5nd motherboard

Any thoughts on how to reset bios to the way it was before,
And i know i should have wrote it all down before i pulled the pin but to late now.

Were your two drives in a RAID configuration, or was Windows setup on just one drive?

If it was setup as RAID then you need to change the SATA controller back to RAID (instead of IDE or AHCI). If it was RAID, do NOT go back into the RAID setup part and change anything or you can wipe the data.

If it was NOT setup as RAID then you don't have your boot settings correct (even though you think they are). You need to:
a) set HARD DRIVE as first to boot, and
b) pick the CORRECT hard drive (you have two choices)

If you're still stuck and know it is NOT RAID, then just physically remove one of the hard drives and try to boot from the other.

(Also, I believe that MASTER/SLAVE has to do with the ribbon cable connection which is usually never...

The ST3320620AS is a SATA drive - you do not need a IDE master/slave; SATA drives have nothing to do with the IDE interface.

Most likely - the computer is trying to boot up from the 'wrong' HDD - the one without the OS. Inside the BIOS - there should be a section for 'HDD boot order/priority' (or something along those lines) - this is NOT the boot priority. Inside the 'HDD boot order' - do what you need to do to reverse the order (e.g. move the other drive at the bottom up to the top of the list).

I just tried both, same result as before no os found. I have been reading up what you were saying about sata drive not having anything to do with master or slave drive but i know before under bios it said master and slave and all the sata drives nothing listed.
is there anything under advanced NVRAID configuration or IDE functions that i should be enable or disabled. I would just reinstall my os but i dontt have a cd and it is a pain to get one.

Thanks, i Set hard drive to raid and it started up. Now for my original issue where my network adapter went missing and reinstalling the driver did nothing. at first it was not in device manager but when i viewed hidden devices it came back. And any time i scan for hard ware changes or anything like that my screen just goes black.
Any ideas?

There are a couple possibilities:
1) The motherboard MAIN CHIPSET driver is not installed (motherboard support site)

2) the adapter itself is defective and causing problems

3) Windows software is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.

#1 is straightforward. As for #2, I would recommend DISABLING your Ethernet device in the BIOS if it's in the BIOS and try an addon card or USB device for Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

If I didn't get your scenario quite right then explain it again.

i will try a pick up an external Ethernet tomorrow, thanks for the help This all started when during a ligtning storm, was in the middle of exiting a game to shut down my computer when lightning went off near my house and i lost my internet connection then my monitor went black but the computer was still running. The computer effected is the only device wired everything else is wifi so i am thinking it was lightning.
