System Bios Problem. Please Help.

Hello.

I have a M1330 with a defunct battery and winxp installed. Essentially, the laptop can't be charged. It still works though, but must be constantly plugged in. My problem is that I am trying to install windows 7 with 4gbRAM. Unfortunately, in order to install Win7 with 4gbRAM I need to update my bio to A15. The issue arises after I click on the driver setup. The window that pops up states: "The AC adapter and battery must be plugged in before the system BIOS can be flashed. Press Ok when they are both plugged in or cancel or CANCEL to quit." I press Ok and the window closes but then immediately pops up again. Is there any way to circumvent that pop-up window? Please advise.

Yes, however the AC adapter is unrecognized by the computer due to an issue with he motherboard connection, or so I'm told. Apparently the only way to fix this issue with the xpsM1330 is by replacing the entire motherboard or by re-soldering the motherboard connection to the battery. I don't really want to spend anymore cash though. Here is a pic of the problem:
