Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 2gb SLI = Enough Memory?

Hey Guys,

So Im considering purchasing a Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce in the 2gb variant with a 1080p display. In the near future however, I am planning on buying at least a 2560x1080 res monitor ang getting a second card. Would the 2gb variant be enough memory in SLI to sustain resolutions equal to that, or most likely higher?

Thanks, appreciate all responses!

  1. A 4gb frame buffer is more that enough for your setup and you will likely not even need that much...

At 1920 x 1080, Id do the 2GB models, at anything bigger I'd do 4 GB (memory doesn't "add" in SLIi)
  3. If you want to run larger resolutions get the 4Gb card(s), its only $50 more. Adding another card in SLI does not increase the amount of usable vram. With 2 2Gb cards in SLI you will still only have 2Gb of usable vram.

    VRAM doesn't add in SLI...
  5. My apologies I mistakenly believed that VRAM would add in SLI... I would recommend getting the 4gb versions instead.
  6. Thanks guys! Was afraid that might be the case but I'm still learning these things so its good to get some more knowledgeable opinions! Appreciate your time!
