I have an MSI CX61 laptop that has stalled out at 1% of "Scanning and repairing drive ( C : )" This all started after attempting a restart on the pc and getting the message that "SCMII is not allowing your pc to restart" I chose "restart anyway" and after a slow restart it froze again. I had opened Norton 360 to do a full scan and after seeing an odd message about my Norton trial being over (I purchased the 360 shortly after the pc) it just locked up and I could not close the window or open new ones. After a forced power cycle all I got was "press any key to skip disc check"
Now no matter what I try I can not get past the auto repair. I have tried booting into safe mode and failed, any links I found were dead ends for Safe mode as they didn't actually work for me. Or they required me to have access to my computer and it's main and it's full compliment of options.
The laptop came with Win 8 pre-installed so I can't use a disc. Literally the only thing I see is the MSI loading screen and the above text of Scanning and repairing. Is there anything I can do to get my computer back?
Only help I get from MSI is to try booting into Safe mode...

Eventually had to send the whole thing in on warranty. Apparently the hard drive failed and this was not uncommon on the model. Since getting it back it has been working fine. I feel I should add that though I did have to pay for shipping to them, they covered return shipping and I had it back two weeks earlier than the projected time.
