Dual band versus single band in a laptop

I was looking at this toshiba laptop and I had a question

I have opted for the Intel® Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Is dual band going to help with connectivity? I have an ASUS RT-AC66R dual band router at home and I'd also like to use this laptop outside of home

zAnd how important is it to have dual band connectivity in a laptop?

This laptop has only single band connectivity

Solution
Dual band is nice, particularly if you have a router that supports it, but it's not essential. Most cellphones and low-end laptops are still single-band only, so everyone supports 2.4GHz.

The main time you see a benefit from 5GHz is when there's lots of spectrum congestion.

hmm ok and what about in the future? I am trying to keep this thing alive for about four years so I am hoping I won't need to buy an adapter later on to help with my connectivity issues......just more convenient to only have to use the integrated chip

thanks for the response
