Best liquid cooling for AMD FX 8350?

I'm building a gaming computer and right now I have an FX 8350 CPU, Radeon 7870 GPU, and a Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard. Through research I've found that liquid cooling is the best cooling method for gaming computers, but I don't want to risk building one myself, (though I usually do) due to risk.

So if anyone has any information as to which cooler is best, please enlighten me! I need help deciding between the Corsair H50, 60, 80, 100, and "i" models, because I do not know the differences. Thank you!

As far as budget goes, I not mind spending a little extra money if the product is worth it. Price/performance is important to me!

EDIT:
I have not yet chosen a case or PSU.
EDIT EDIT:
I plan to overclock my CPU and GPU.

ok... well the h100i comes with something called corsair link built into it. which means you plug it into one of the MB usb headers and you can control the pump and fan speeds in a program in windows. set up cooling profiles and the like. It's really helpful if you're interested in noise control or setting up an agressive cooling profile if you're overclocking. It's also got a 2nd gen pump and radiator that makes it sligthly better then either the h110 or h100.

The h110 and h100 both have a button on the housing that controls the pump/fan speeds... or you can pay corsair an extra 40-50 for a "corsair link" to install into your system and get the same control as the h100i. overall this makes the h100i a better deal all around...

That does seem to be the best one. Can you please explain why that one is worth more money than the others in its series? And can you explain that bit about the dual fan radiator? Thanks!

Corsair h100i is the best closed loop water cooler. with the h80i, h100, h110 and NZXT Kraken X60 a small step behind. If you were looking at a sub 100W tdp cpu the others would all probably be just as good as the h100i (the h80i is at least)

The h100i, h110, h100, and Kraken are all 240mm radiators. (think of them as double length, so 2 120mm fans will fit on one side side by side... technically the rads are a little bit longer then 240mm. So you need a case designed for them, or do a case mod to get them to fit.

The h80i is a 120mm radiator. It can be mounted right on the industry standard back-top of the case exhaust fan mount, so in many ways this is a more convenient system as it requires nothing special for a case.

Oh, I see! So between h100, h100i, and Kraken... What's the difference? In electronics I can understand performance gains without question, but with a physical system, what could they possibly keep doing differently to improve it? Thank you for the extra information. Also, I plan on purchasing a pretty good tower, so I'm sure finding a 240mm radiator won't be an issue.

I plan to overclock :p

Well don't get the Kuhler 920. I own one hooked up to my i5, when the fan speed ramps up it starts to sound like a vacuum cleaner. To my understanding the 8350's run pretty warm, so your computer would sound like a Hoover most of the time. :(

Great! I think I'll fork up some extra cash then and use the 100i. Has anyone had bad experience with the 100i?

EDIT: Grats on the badge!

thanks =D

right now i'm working with corsair's customer service (first time ever, they're typically really reliable) and i'm very impressed. Best customer service i've dealt with in the last 15 years with tech companies (back before the internet everyone had amazing tech support, ever since the internet went mainstream that came to a crashing stop).

All corsair closed loop coolers have a lifetime warranty, not just on parts, but on damage they cause to YOUR parts if they leak. Best warranty in the business.

*BTW: i bought an h100 for $49.99 because it was an open box with the whole mounting eq missing (it was unused, i know because the factory thermal material was untouched). I bought it trusting corsair customer service would follow through and get me the mounting eq (they have a great reputation). Sure enough, the process was simple, they fulfilled the request, no questions asked, didn't even ask to see a upc or reciept. Just got the whole mounting set in the mail, 1 week later. Amazing... didn't cost me a dime.

Thats how amazing their customer service is.

Wow! that's awesome! So do you recommend not buying one new? They even warranty open boxed items? What if I ordered an open box and there was just a scratch or something that didn't necessarily harm the product, but made me uneasy?

well, from what i know of their replacement policy when you have a whole unit problem all you have to do is send them the unit. They give you the shipping labels for it, though i think shipping expenses up front come from you. Nothing in it seems to need a upc or receipt.

When i bought the opened box from the store, it had a sticker on it that said the store wouldn't honor any warranty but to contact corsair directly about issues. Seems straight forward to me.

I'll skip the hassle and buy one new anyway. Thanks, you've been very helpful. Nice Not of This World avatar!

Sweet! Well, I bought the H100i form Newegg at $10 off for 99.99. Would you happen to know which case goes best with that and my parts?

any case with a 240mm radiator (2 120mm case fan) space on the top of the case will probably work. something like a NZXT SWITCH 810, one of the Silverstone Raven series cases... many of their fortress series... Cooler Master HAF 932... so on and so forth.

Thanks! I'm considering an NZXT, and that 932 looks nice. I'm going to make a thread about it right now actually. Thank you for all the help!

np! good luck!
