Am I due to make a new rig?

So I bought my current PC in December of 2009. Back then I had no interest in computers so I bought a Dell. Last march I upgraded my graphics card from an ATI 4350 to a GTX 570. Here are my current computer specs:

GTX 570
Intel Q9300 Core Quad (2.5GHZ)
8GB of DDR2 RAM (not sure about the speed)
~500GB of a beaten down harddrive
and some god awful motherboard (using windows 8).

I've saved up for a while at moment and currently have the cash to get a 780, 4770k, 500GB SSD, and the second best ASUS VI ROG MoBo.

I was originally planning to buy a really good multi monitor, 3970x rig this winter, but after learning about Haswell-E I can wait about 15 months to start gaming in three monitors. Besides gaming I'm into CADing (nothing too extreme, enough for a GeForce card to handle), modding games, coding, and some video editing. I'm guessing by then I can get good enough at CADing that it's better to buy an extreme edition processor (needless to say the 4970x would be great for multi monitor..anything XD)

So I just want an opinion, would it be in my best interest to build a new rig now?

Ohhhh I see. I thought you have just bought it this year. haha It's really up to you bro. If you are willing to spend your money now and regret later this year, which is 3mos in the making, up to you. :) I have a gut feeling that this coming 4th quarter, a lot of new tech and news will come out for both AMD and ATI, because Intel and Nvidia just released new hardware. That's just me because your question is subjective. :)

No, not yet now. You have just purchased new upgrades. haha It would be put in to waste. BUtttt if you really want it now, why the heck not right? You have the money and all, I'm just advising on my "thrifty side". :) You have a gtx 570 and a powerful quad, 8gb of DDR2. Those are still nice, not really the same as what you are planning to buy. As what you've said, you can wait for the Haswell-E. :)

Oops. I meant I bought the GTX 570 in the march of 2012, not this year xD. If so I would be fine, but the card is 2 and a half years old.

Yeah haha, but maxwell and haswell-e are schedueled to release in 2014. Haswell in the second half, and Maxwell sometime in the year. I decided to just go for it xD Life is full of risks, and I wouldn't mind an awesome rig now and an even better one in about at year :D
