Hey guys, I'm building my first desktop rig for gaming. I currently have an i5-4670K CPU, ASUS Z87-A Mobo, Corsair Vengeance RAM 8GB (2x4), Corsair Carbide Series 200R Case, Corsair CX600M PSU, and a 1 TB Seagate HDD (7200 RPM). After much debating and running my budget over and over again, I've decided to go with the EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC/ACX Cooling. Now I'm aiming for everything in here to last me for about 3 years or so of gaming. I do have a couple of questions though; 1) Would my CPU bottleneck an SLI configuration of that GPU? (I know I will have to up my PSU to at least 750watts, but I'm not planning on doing SLI until maybe a year and a half in. When the 8xx series are released) and 2) Do you think SLI'ed 760's will be able to compete with the high end 8xx series? (I know it's mostly an opinionated question since those cards are a long ways off, but I want some insight from people who know PC's a lot better than me.)

1- No your cpu will not bottleneck any gpu. It can even handle gtx 780 SLI so be assured.

2- Well it is a difficult question to answer but if to go by the history (I mean the jump between 5xx and 6xx series) gtx 560 sli was almost on par with a gtx 670. So you can expect that the gtx 760 SLI might be on par with a gtx 870...

As ayushde said, it's difficult to determine what the specs of the next generation of cards will be and how this generation will stack up. However, a dual 760 set up is very beastly as HackedVirus said. I was actually going to post that article but he beat me to the punch >.> The price to performance ratio of the dual 760s is absolutely the right way to go right now. Cheaper than a 780 with greater performance.
