How to change my network type?

So I was fooling around with the internet settings and I found a way to go online to my netgear account and change my network type there (I know I must sound really stupid for wanting to do that. I had a reason, but it wasn't really that legitimate). Well I changed my network account from a WPA2-PSK AES network to an Open WEP network and I changed the password (I know both the previous and the current one). Well, as soon as I did that, I lost connection. I went to change it on my computer settings by going into the "wireless connection properties" of my network and no matter which password I put in, or what combination of network types and passwords I put in, it would not connect. I decided it wasn't worth the trouble but at that point I couldn't change it back.

So what can I do to change it back?

(Oh and one other thing: After I tried every combination, I did a system restore to the previous day in the vain hope it would help. It didn't.)

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Solution
2 problems here
1. You changed the router to WEP
2. You can't get the PC to connect to that.

1. Change the router back to WPA2. You'll probably have to run an ethernet cable to do this.

Do not use WEP. It is horribly broken, and merely a speedbump if anyone wants in. If you really, really need it for some old device, run that on it's own, walled off router.

2. Change the PC back to the original WPS2 settings

See what happens.

If for some unusual reason you do want to use WEP. Try going to (right click on the little computer icon on the right corner) "view wireless networks" then click on "change the order of preferred networks" remove the ones that belong to your router and connecting to it once more. But as everyone said, WEP is not recommended as it is easily cracked so best to revert back to WPA2.

Thanks everyone for the help! Janayhvora, I tried resetting the router, but it didn't work. However, I tried USAFret's solution and hooked up my computer to the router and was able to connect that way. Once I was online, I went back to the netgear site and changed it back. Everything's back to normal!

And thanks for the info on WEP! Now I know a little bit more about what I was doing. I feel like an idiot, but I really appreciate the help!
