GTX770 2GB/Superclocked - Please Assist (I'm Confused!)

Based on Amazon and also Newegg, there are two versions of the GTX770 2GB Superclocked, but I can't tell the difference --- and if there is one, they appear to be the same price? I am building a gaming PC for the first time, and I apologize for maybe such a poor question...but I can't figure out which one is "better" for the $419 price tag...thanks in advance everyone!

* They are both listed on Amazon to have come out on June 1st, so that even makes it more confusing, for if one was older, I would figure that is the one not to get? :??:

    Hi there.

It is the exact same card- with 2 different cooling options. Neither one is better than the other- though I suspect, and highly recommend that you opt for the version with the "ACX Cooler". The other model uses a Blower fan, which is used more frequently in certain PC configurations with SLI and whatnot. The ACX Cooler version will be what 90% of the market opts for, I actually just bought one set to arrive tomorrow... and I would recommend it to you also.
  2. Personally, until we see details on the series PCB and VRM, I'd avoid the SC series entirely. I can't find anything anywhere on what EVGA has done this time around with the 7xx cards, but trhu 5xx and 6xx, the factory OC;'d competition from Asus , Gigabyte and MSI has had more phase son their VRM for better overclockability.

EVGA is a great brand for 700, and were a great brand for 400, 500, 600. I wouldn't worry about avoiding EVGA- they are quality, SC or not, (Its only $10 more than standard for SC), and if you asked 100 people on this forum to give you a brand, 60 would tell you EVGA.

I'm not suggesting that they are correct for the 700 series, we dont know that yet- but I highly doubt that you'll regret going EVGA SC.

  6. First off, thanks for the help! That makes sense now...that is the one I just ordered! Can't wait to build my first ever PC gaming rig.

Second - every review I've read so far, states the GTX770SC is a great, great card for under $500, and EVGA is a great brand, to say the least. Most reviewers say the 770 is less than the 680, but less money, very fast and better cooling --- I've read so much my eyes are about to fall out.
