so i built this new pc and now a month ago i turned it on and pretty much nothing happened, the pc was running but it sounded different and windows didnt start up, the monitor just sat there in its power saving mode and then it turns off after a few seconds and then turns on again by itself and just runs like that forever. maybe once a week when i try turning it on everything runs normally and then when i turn it off the next day it doesnt work again and sometimes windows freezes and when i restart it goes back to doing the same stupid broken version of itself and i dunno whats wrong with it, the temperatures werent exceptionally high, maybe a wee bit on the warmer side but not too bad, this computer is maybe 5 months old...i'm shocked and dismayed

Without a full parts list, I doubt you will get any particularly useful answers.

You should at least see the bios screen, unless the cpu is faulty, which I don't think is the case since your pc works time to time...

Since you can't see anything when it doesn't work I suspect the graphic card may be faulty. I would substitute another graphic card to be sure. That would be a good place to start your diagnose.

Remove and reseat your RAM and graphics card. Test your RAM sticks individually with memtest.
