Hi all,

I'm currently running dual GTX 480's in SLI and I was considering upgrading video cards. What video cards do you all suggest as a good worthwhile upgrade while not completely smashing my wallet?

Thanks
Jekt

GTX 770 is best bang for the buck right now from NVidia. 2gb models start at $400 a pop. 4gb for $500. Those single cards will outperform your 480s in SLI hands down. If you wanted to keep an SLI configuration, you could go with the GTX760, starting at $250 a pop.

How does 1 x 760 compare to 1 x 770?

Well thing is 480x2 (SLI) perform about the same as single 680. A 770 is roughly about 5-10% faster than 680 so to be honest just upgrading to a 770 (baring SLI issues with some games aside) won't really bring a noticable difference in FPS. While going to a 760 wil actually be a downgrade in performance so the best bet would be to go to either a GTX780 for $650 or do 760x2 SLI (faster than a single 780) for about $500.

Tom's actually compared those two in their review of the 760.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-760-rev...

The performance jump from 760 to 770 is around 15% to 20%.
