gtx 660 on 1366x768 resolution

Solution

Not really, even the 7770 averages 30FPS at this resolution on High in Crysis 3:

would the difference be negligible between a gtx 660 and a gtx 650ti boost or hd 7790 in that resolution? i mean, if i get a gtx 650ti boost/hd7790, would I get almost the same performance on a gtx 660 with 1366x768 resolution? i have an i5-3350p CPU

An average of 30fps isn't great - 30fps is fine as a minimum but it's hardly fast and responsive gameplay. Plus, that's not even very high - it's just high. Depends on what settings the OP is after of course, but 30fps is hardly a desirable average - means it'll spend as much time in the 20s as it does in the 30s. I'd personally go with at least a GTX650 Ti Boost for very high settings and a decent framerate.

EDIT: I wasn't clear in the earlier post - I didn't mean "high" as in the preset, I just meant generally settings cranked right up. Even so, like I say 30fps isn't much good as an average.

A GTX 660 OC is definitely overkill for 1366x768.

It's best to read at least one review to see how graphic cards compare to each other. Click the below link for a review of the OC'ed Inno3D iChill GTX 650 Ti Boost 2 GB to see how it compares to other graphic card that are a little less powerful and more powerful than it. Note that the test rig uses an Intel Core i7-3770K @ 4.6 GHz. If you have a slower CPU, then your performance may not be as high.

Here are some benchmarks at 1280x800 which is pretty close to 1366x768. 1366x768 resolution has 2.45% more pixels than 1280x800. For simplicity sake just subtract 2 FPS.

I have an I5-3350p, what performance will i have then?

That depends on the game. Some games don't really care how fast the CPU is as long as it does not slow down the graphics card. You would need to look at a different set of benchmarks focused solely on the CPU. You can go to Techspot.com they do some CPU benchmarks in games every year. Click the following link and scroll down to the Gaming GPU/CPU Performance section...

http://www.techspot.com/guides-gaming.shtml

Here are the 5 most recent benchmarks. Use them to gauge the what the relative performance level of the i5-3350p is. The i5-3350p is clocked at 3.3GHz so the closet match would be the i5-3470 which is clocked at 3.4GHz.

As for the benchmarks from TechPowerUp...... I would say maybe 25% lower performance since it has an i7 clocked at 4.6GHz.

Again, it depends on how CPU bound the game is. For example, in Tomb Raider I really doubt there would be any noticeable difference. However, Crysis 3? Yeah, you are definitely going to have lower performance compared to what has been benchmarked.
