performance wise, if you aren't going to overclock yourself, I believe that EVGA provides more options for pre-overclocked GTX 770s. Gigabyte cards tend to max out higher when manually overclocking yourself, but EVGA's factory overclocked options are steady workhorses with an awesome warranty and support. Acoustics for both are about the same, though EVGA's Precision X software allows you to set fan speeds if you are too loud or not cool enough. I would go with EVGA for the proven quality. Gigabyte is still a very good card, but triple fan enclosures usually mean louder.

+1 for the EVGA 770. I have that card and it's new ACX cooler is way better than Gigabyte's Windforce 3X and ACX is so quiet and cools my 770's pretty good!

- The Gigabyte Windforce is slightly quieter.
- The Gigabyte card comes with custom upgraded ("Ultra-Durable") components and an enhanced power phase/voltage regulation system, while the EVGA model uses all reference PCB components.
- The Gigabyte card comes with a higher factory overclock, which means that it will have higher performance out of the box than the EVGA card.
- The Gigabyte card is also cheaper.

I faced this exact dilemma and I ultimately decided on the Gigabyte. Bought two, in fact. Couldn't be happier. The higher OC is nice, and they tend to stay pretty frosty. Although I will say that eVGA's customer service, warranty, step-up, and other bonuses are very very nice... I believe you can get 3d mark advance with the eVGA card. Ultimately, I think the Gigabyte cards are quieter and you know they're faster.

I'd like to clock mine a bit higher but I'm scurred....

I have Gigabyte GTX 770, and judging from the various test results between all 770's Gigabyte is at the top. Their coolers are effective and quiet.
3 slower rpm fans will be quieter than 2 higher rpm spinning fans any time, people fail to see this. The card is very quiet on idle and load, I had Sapphire 7950 OC before, this card is a lot quieter, especially on Idle, this technology is genius!
