hello i will buy a new pc soon, and am going to get crossfire 7970 vapor-x and overclock them i wont go hard core on clocking tho and will probably overclock the i7 to 4.7-4.8,also going to put some fans on my case u know like all do and probably noctua 14d for cooling i just need some expert openion, i dont want to regret something later how many watts do i really need, will a xfx 850 watt bottleneck or should i pay 70$ more for the 1050 watt, thanks in advance

7970's in crossfire requires a minimum of 750W so 850W is the sweet spot. But if you can afford 1050W then why not? :) At least you can futureproof the PSU if ever in the next few years when more GPU's will need more power, you don't have to buy another PSU.

850W is enough for that setup. Just make sure to get an 80 plus Silver or Gold version. :)

usually, psu requirements for crossfire is easy to determine. take the power requirement for 1 card and double it. If 1 card requires 38amps on the 12volt rail, then get a PSU that has at least 72amps on the 12v rail for crossfire. I believe your 850 watt supply will handle this.
