What to do to use two harddrives

okay. so i have two harddrives, two sata cables (power and data) and i want to use both on one pc, so i can have the regular C:/ and then rename the next t F:/ or whatever i wanted. now comes the problem. one of them, i restored to nothing. its blank. and the other contains all of my junk. (windows OS, program files, etc.) so do i just plug them both in or is there a process in order to make them both seperate storage pieces, or what? what are the steps? any help is much appreciated.

Each HDD is in itself separate. Even partitions on HDD are considered separate in some sense.

Just plug them in.
Keep the OS and applications on C. Maybe use the second as a place for general storage. That way, if you have to reinstall, all of your personal data won't be lost.

After you plug it in and boot up, Windows is going to detect the new drive and install the drivers. Go to "my computer" and check if it appears. If you formatted it, it most likely won't, so click the start button and search for "disk management" and look for "create and format hard disk partitions" in the results. Click it to bring up disk management. Look for the new drive you installed. Right click and create a new partition by using new simple volume. A wizard will guide you through the rest. For more drives, repeat same process. If the drive has more than one partition, either format it or delete the partitions in disk management. If there is any unallocated space, right click and extend volume.
