Hi, i recently built my computer and i'm beyond impressed with it :D. Unfortunately, since i spent all my money on my computer, i said im just gonna buy a cheap 15 dollar keyboard and use an 7 year old mouse and now im regretting that decision lol. SO, i need your help. i have learned everything there is to know about computer parts and what they do, just i dont know crap when it comes down to the keyboard and mouse. All i know is that for a keyboard you want anti-ghosting, and for a mouse, you want a high DPI, and thats it. What do you guys recommend for a good keyboard for gaming? i already looked at quite a few, just i dont know what brands are reliable, what is considered bad, etc. and for all the one's i found, they all only have mediocre reviews? are all keyboards that problematic? anyways, what keyboard do you recommend? i want----

-anti-ghosting
-WASD, and space to be protected more, although all protective keys are the best
-BACKLIT! my computer is a beast and i have cathodes and lights all over it lol, i really like the lights and i dont mind gaudy lol
- NO flat keys, i hate the flat keys like mac keyboards and the razer deathstalker has
-macro keys wont be used
- i dont want it to feel cheap
- i dont mind fingerprints

MY BUDGET IS 100 US DOLLARS!

also, i was looking at the mad catz/ saitek/ cyborg ?? v.7. (link below) this is pretty much what im looking for in a keyboard, and if its not bad, i might just get this one! the only reason i'm concerned, is because its old, but i dont know if it is outdated, so can someone please tell me if a 5 year old keyboard is considered obsolete at this point? i couldnt find a difference between keyboards today at all. (and this thing looks awesome!)

if anyone can answer as much as they can or all of the questions to help a noob out! thanks guys! relian' on ya!

(EDIT) here i found its other name on newegg

I haven't really heard too much about that key board to be honest, but I think this will determine your answer though:

I know your heart is kind of set on that keyboard since it looks pretty awesome, it has a good price, and has features that you want. I get that way too especially with gpu's and monitors. It is kind of a bad review, but at least some of the people say what keyboards they would think would be better options then the cyborg v7.

I am no expert, but I have used a couple of higher end keyboards the one I am currently using is:

RAZER Anansi Black Wired Keyboard

It is pretty good it is NOT mechanical though some people would say that is a con for a $100 keyboard. It is for people with smaller hands though the keys aren't widely spread out, but the keyboard is smooth easy to press down keys and stays very clean.

I had a mechanical keyboard a year ago that I spend $120 and if you are going to use the it for school work or typing a lot then I wouldn't advise getting one their response is better then a non mechanical keyboard but at the same time it is loud and can be a little tiring. Also if you people sitting around you when you are gaming they are going to hate you cause it gets annoying for people who are listening.

From what I have seen and learned from personal experience... you pay for what you get so if it looks like a sweet gaming keyboard and it is $50 it is probably to good to be true

If I were to get a keyboard that fits my style as in it being: clean, smooth, good response, back lights, reliable; I would get a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823436002

Good luck though

I have the Cyborg, I bought it from my friend for $10 because he hated it. I don't think it's that bad, it's a keyboard, not much more. I don't think I'd recommend it for the $50 they normally cost. If your looking for a nice keyboard I think the way to go is with a mechanical. RAZER has a really really nice one, but it's $130, which I think is very very steep. (Looked it up, its the Black Widow)
I kind of like the Cooler Master Storm Keyboards myself, I thing some of them light up but I'm not sure.
That's all I really have to say, keyboards are mostly a personal preference thing, besides durability, and stuff.
Can't remember if you said you had a mouse or not, but I really really like mine its an E-BLUE Cobra Junior. I paid $13 for it and think it's very nice. My friend has a $75 mouse from Gigabyte and he says mine is acceptable so there's that.

I was looking at key board reviews and here is kind of a good website just to see on getting a keyboard that is more into what you are looking for:

http://gaming-keyboard-review.toptenreviews.com/razer-lycosa-review.html

I know one of my friends use the Microsoft SideWinder X4 which is in the review and he likes it a lot saying it is great for the price and is very reliable and doesn't have a ton of extra features he doesn't need.

I know a lot of the Razer keyboards come with all of these customizable key bindings and I play WOW enough for it to be very beneficial for me, but I don't use them for any other game so things like that are useless to spend an extra $20 on.

Yea, i looked at all the Razer products, so so far im not too impressed lol. and yea, i dont use the key bindings much either. Anyways thanks for the reply! i didnt know it would be such a pain in the a$$ to find a dang keyboard. (and i couldnt help but notice, the cyborg v7 was on that website that you noticed..... and it has good reviews on newegg, do you really think its too good to be true? i know its likely too good to be true, but i cant seem to find the cons against it.... anyway you could figure if it is crap for me? or tell me how to find out if it is ?)

Do you know anything about the Logitech G510s? that is the other one i am thinking about. It looks pretty solid and has better reviews than the cyborg, and logitech is more reliable (i think, correct me if im wrong) and i like the LCD screen. The only thing, people are complaining that its too expensive for not being mechanical, which i had a mechanical once a long time ago and hated the thing, and ive used membrane ever since and never had one break and i like how much quieter they are, i dont understand why people hate them lol.

anyways, do you think this looks pretty good?

That Logitec certainly has all the bells and whistles. I don't recommend my keyboard because the keys are...slow I guess I'd call it. It's like you have to press them down to far especially on the number pad, it's a good thing I don't play WoW anymore. It's doesn't bother me playing games, but normal typing, I'll usually do about 110wpm, on this board I'll do about 70. And that's what I'm doing with it half the time anyway.
