One OS, and Multiple HDD's?

Hey! Uhm, this is my first time doing this, and my understanding of storage is really not that great. Alrighty, so I have one 200Gig HDD to start off on, and I will be buying another HDD (1TB) to go with it later. Problem is, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be using a RAID config ( Told that I wouldn't need it.), and this will result in two separate drives, yes? Also, I'm not clear on this, but you have to choose what driver to boot into, right? So, would I have to install my OS on both of them? And can OS's even be used multiple times? I know this might be confusing, I'm trying to explain this the best I can, but if you need more clarification, please ask :)

Thank you in advance,
Cres~

No, you don't need a RAID array until you know you need a RAID array.
You don't.

OS and applications installed on the 200, use the new 1TB for storage of items such as music, pictures, etc.
The new drive, once installed, will be just another drive letter. D, for instance.

Personally I would not bother booting with the old 200gb unless you can't wait. It will be much slower than the 1tb drive.
If you cant wait then go ahead and install windows on it and when your 1tb drive comes in you can clone the 200gb over to it and boot off the 1tb. After a few weeks of the 1tb working good I would then reinstall the 200gb and use it for a backup drive. {never trust your important data to just 1 disk}
