My computer with an ASRock z77 Extreme4 motherboard now only consistently detects 1 of 3 drives. The one detected is an SSD and the others are norma disk drives. This apprears to have happened after a spontaneous restart during booting into Windows 7. I have tried moving the working drive's SATA plug to different ports on the motherboard and it seems to consistently work. My question is: Does this mean there is a fault in the power supply or motherboard?

Solution
I make sure I have the latest BIOS and mobo drivers, then check again...if problem persist then try with different SATA cables...Which ports appear to be working and which not working - you have two different controllers for SATA on this mobo
