Downloaded windows 8

I downloaded windows 8 on my laptop to see if i could fix my other computer which is windows 8. I bought it online and everything and i have a 16 gb flash drive i just dont know how to go about getting it on my computer because my tower's hard drive is busted and i was wondering if i could use the windows 8 i bought for a system reboot or something. It says on my Hard drive on my tower that it's verifying dmi pool data but it just sits there and now it's saying that there is no OS. Im stuck please help me!

You have a functioning laptop.
You have a desktop with a busted hard drive.
You wish to install/fix Windows 8 on the desktop.

It would seem that you need to buy a new hard drive for the desktop.

Well idk if the hard drive itself is busted i think it may have a virus and i was just trying to see if i could reboot it somehow.

You can install the Windows 8 (from iso) to an USB Pen drive.
Then boot from that usb pen drive and choose "Repair" option. And try that.
I don't know if this will fix your hdd problem though.

Repair also has a Command Prompt option which has usefull tools like
Chkdsk and BootRec which you can use to repair your hdd.
