Skyrim permanently corrupting my Display Driver!

Hi. I've recently decided to try Skyrim. Went ahead and modded the game with about 20 well known mods. Also using an ENB: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30936/?

The problem is that after a while the game starts stuttering... and starting to freeze, on to a complete freeze that crashes the game.

However after that i constantly start getting the message "Display Driver has stopped working". Errors like this:

Log Name: System
Source: Display

There is no way to get rid of them after they start. Tried reinstalling drivers, using other drivers, disabling Nvidia audio HD driver (i use a gtx 680), reinstalling directx, system restore, nothing worked.

However what did work on 3 different ocasions was to just format my hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch. I'm able to play skyrim then, stable for about 5-6 days before the problem presents itself and forces me to format again...

As you can imagine this takes about 5-6 hours everytime to reinstall everything from scratch and it's just a nightmare...

System specs:
i5-3570k OCed to 4.7ghz
8gb ddr3 2333mhz 9-9-9-24 (factory values)
Asus GTX 680 factory OCed
Samsung 830 ssd

Last month i completed Metro last Light twice without any issues whatsoever, then installed skyrim, modded it and the issues started arising... perhaps it's one of the mods or the enb itself or the skse loader (required to run the Sky UI mod), though i really wanted these mods + enb, and the problem seems extremely odd to me... how does a crash in a games starts permanently corrupting your display driver everywhere ????? Drivers should cause problems in games, not the other way around...

I dont want to format again... No instability while running windows on safe mode (at least that...)

Checked the temps on my cpu and graphics card, they seem nowhere near critical temps.

This error has persisted and started happening everytime after a few days of having reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate (of course the first time it was not a newly installed copy of windows) and only while playing skyrim.

Once i noticed the problem starting to form (stuttering) and i closed skyim, rebooted and i stopped myself from getting the Event 4101 error. However once this event is triggered just once, it doesnt stop (even if i'm just staring at my desktop its constantly being triggered, and it always starts with skyrim).

Have alot of things turned off on my graphics card to allow the enb to run smoothly, ambient occlusion, AA, etc. Have adapative vsync on though. However once the problem is triggered i dont know how to stop it other from formating my hard drive, the error doesnt allow me to work on my computer in general.

Help ?????

  1. Until you get a good answer, the only thing I would suggest is to install one at a time mod use it and see if you have a problem and then do it for the rest to figure out which mod is giving you problems.

I had similar is issues once. It turned out that it was due to 2 things. My CPU was a tad to overclocked (this becomes an issue with Skyrim, since unlike most things it actually will really run it ragged), the cpu instability cause some windows dll files to become corrupted, and was un able to be repaired via the internet, or roll backs. I figured this out once several windows updates would not install correctly and give me an error. My suggestion is lower the OC a little, and repair/reinstall your operating system, then reinstall the video drivers.
