Intermitant power on fail ASUS P8z77-v

I have a fractal desighn case and a Thermaltake 850w power supply
with an ASUS P8Zyy-v
Intermitantly it will not swich on unless you hold the power button down for about five seconds.
If you turn the power supply off att the switch for an hour or so the fault goes away for about four power ups then comes back again.
Have ordered a new power supply but could this be the Motherboard.
All components are new.

Yes it's verry hard to diagnose a fault like this without haveing the same componants to swap out.
Just wondered if someone had a similar problem with this MB as it seems to have some funny quirks.
Thanks for your input.

I received a corsair power supply today and swapped it out, have switched it on and off a few times no problems.
Strange fault though, will send the thermaltake back for warranty.
