Hi,

I wanted to make a new and improved gaming rig, but money's tight, so I thought I'd sell my current lower-end PC.

So my question is: How much can I sell this system for? Here's the parts list:

Mobo: Biostar A85X Hi-Fi
CPU: A10 5800k
Case: Raidmax Blackstorm (white)
PSU: Raidmax 530W
SSD: 120GB OCZ Agility
RAM: 8GB G. Skill Sniper 2133Mhz

ALSO:
-212 EVO cooler
-Custom blue lighting
-A DVD Burner
-Replaced stock fans with CM ones

Note:
-The front fan is dead.
-It's lightly used.
-Slightly overclocked.
-It has windows installed (can i get rid of it)

I'm hoping to get $600 on Ebay. Is this possible?

Thanks.

You gotta understand that it is used.

Before selling. Take out the dead front fan and put one in that works. Also, wipe your entire SSD with dban.

It takes a while to run but then you don't have to worry about someone getting your info. Afterwards, reinstall
Windows 7.

I think you could get $400. I know that's 2/3 original price but it is used and buyer is unsure of warranties.

I gotta agree with envy on that $400 estimate...maybe a little less. You gotta understand that most gamers love their hardware and want top quality performance. It really depends on how you're going to sell it on ebay. Are you going to post it as an auction or buy it now?

I would dismantle the rig.
Sell the mobo and the proc on ebay...the rest, simply keep them.
Buy new things to replace those which are broken.
Buy a new proc and mobo and you are good to go.
This will save you more money instead of selling everything and buying all for scratch again.

Don't ever wipe an SSD by writing over the existing data on it. All ATA devices implement a SECURE_ERASE function which causes the device to wipe itself in the fastest and most secure fashion. For hard disks, this causes the hard disk to disconnect from the PC and write zeroes to every sector, taking 45 minutes to several hours. For SSDs, this causes the SSD to ground out all of the cells, erasing the drive almost instantly. This is done by the drive controller with no software assistance.

Remove the dead fan.

If I were to break it down:
CPU+MOBO $170
PSU + Case $40
SSD $75
RAM $50
Cooler + ODD $30
Misc. Fans, etc $10

I would guess anywhere from $350 to $400
