Hello, i live in mexico and we often get different products, or maybe no more in production or sale in the first world countries (never able to find them on their website).

So I came across this Asus laptop model R501VJ-MTX1-H, wich include an Nvidia dedicated GPU (terribly difficult to find here in the yucatecan peninsula, don't laugh 3rd world country, they mostly sale vision by AMD, really...)

According to its charactaristics it states:
Battery: Litio-Ion 6 cell
GPU: nVIDIA GeForce GT 635M, 2GB DDR3 VRAM
CPU: Intel Core i5-3210M (2.5GHz)
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
OS: Windows 8 64 bit
Size: 15.6"
HDD: SATA HDD 5400 rpm
cost: about 1071USD

Why a laptop like this is not considered for republic of gamers, what's the difference on performance and such?. I found this ROG laptop it's even with core i3 and a 400 nvidia.

The G53 is a few generations older. The specs on the R-series that you listed is above average, in my opinion; but it was not build with gaming in mind. It will be able to do a lot more than your average consumer line-up laptop, but when compared to a current G-series, there really is no comparison.

If your main objective is gaming, definitely look into the G series.

but i like the core i5, i feel good performance ingame. i feel the core i7 really expensive, and gets hotter. I am looking forward for a ROG on my next buy, but as i mentioned on OP, in the peninsula is really hard to get awesome laptops, in mexico city is not that hard.

Which model would you recommend me with a core i5? and the cheapest?
