AMD APU or 7750, i have the first generation of AMD APU
And i can play skyrim on Mid-high settings and get 40 FPS on 1280*1024 which is superior to 1366*768.

So you can only imagine what the the latest APU can do

with fast memory, latest apu almost as fast 6670 DDR3..

Well, if it's for your grandpa, then it's worthed..
But if not, well, add on card always be a better choice..

and yes, something like hd 7770/7750/650Ti will serve you very well..
But i suggest you to wait for Nvidia GTx 750 class..

It will give you GTX660 performance for ("maybe" much) lower price..

its for heavy gaming,,, how about hd 7790?

Ultimately it depends on what games you want to play, how high you want to set the graphics quality and what you consider minimum acceptable frames rates are.

For example, an OC'ed Radeon HD 7790 is sufficient for Skyrim since the below benchmarks shows an average FPS of 70. That could mean that perhaps the lowest FPS you will get might be 50. While in Borderlands 2 the OC'ed Radeon HD 7790 would be considered overkill since the average FPS is 111; try see that many frames on a 60Hz monitor. However, Metro 2033 is a completely different story. The OC'ed Radeon HD 7790 will only give you 33 FPS on average. If you want at least an average of 50 FPS in that game, then you will need something faster than a Radeon HD 7870.

Note: The test rig uses an OC'ed Intel Core i7-3770K @ 4.6 GHz. 1366x768 resolution is not benchmarked, but 1280x800 resolution is and the difference in the number of pixels is about 2.5%.

how about this games: crysis 3, far cry 3, battlefield 3, GTA IV, max payne 3 with an HD 7790. I am asking for opinions because i dont want to waste money. Actually, i can afford a gtx 660 but if i buy it, i wont have any money left for buying a new ram. FYI, i am doing a full system upgrade, 1 by 1.

Click the link I provided in my post to the source of the charts. There are benchmarks for FC 3, BF3 and MP 3. Crysis 3? Look at the benchmarks for Metro 2033, both are demanding games, but I don't know which one is more demanding.

GTA IV is a bit old, but I would guess 25 - 30 FPS using medium settings.
