Hey all, I'm upgrading from a build I did in 2007 which had a Q6600, P35 board, 4 gigs of DDR2 800 and 4870x2.

New build:

Core i7 4770k @ 3.5 8mb Cache
Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler
Gigabyte Z87-UD3H
8 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
Sapphire 7950
Samsung 840 Pro 120 gig SSD
WD 500 gig 7200rpm slave drive
Raidmax Hybrid 2 RX-730SS 730W PSU
Cooler Master 311 case w/ side window
Blu ray/dvd-r drive.

How does everything look? Cost me around $1000. I got some pretty good deals ($249 for video card and came with Bioshock Infinity, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, and Far Cry). Only reason I bought the Raidmax was because it is $40 after rebate, we'll see how long it holds up.

I'm going blue themed, and I think it will turn out very nice. Anyway, thoughts/comments welcome!

Mainly Antec,Corsair,SeaSonic,XFX recommended.
I think that stealthXstream will be okay if manufactured before 2008

I thought that cooler was pretty solid, same one your running it seems! :p

I don't think I'll be over clocking straight away, just relax and play some games (I literally haven't played a game since I graduated college 2 years ago). I'll ease back into the over clocking scene once the system is running solid.

No offense taken at all. Can someone recommend me something? I currently have an OCZ stealthXstream from my last build which is 600watts will that be enough?

I was hoping for something modular, current, and would match/compliment my blue theme.

If I were you I would save some cash and switch over to an i5 like the 3550K or the 4670K. Use this to beef up your video card. Check out the GTX 760 (same price) or the GTX 770 with the cash you saved with by going for an i5. My experience is that NVIDIA provides a better user experience. With your current specs I'd say you could also drop down to a 600-650W power supply. Other than that I'd say you look like you're good to go.

The cooler is fine for an Ivy Bridge or AMD build but if you plan on overclocking a Haswell or 2011 socket you would be much better off with something with a bit more cooling power.
