Hello, my mobo is a Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H. It has 4 RAM slots. 2 of the slots are filled with 2x2 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 memory.

Today, I bought a new pair of the same RAMs. The product codes of the pairs are exactly the same, however one of them was manufactured 3 years ago.

Anyway, I install the RAMs and I get 3 beeps. The system doesn't boot. I tried a couple things:

1) Installed old pair to other 2 slots, they work. So all my 4 slots are OK.
2) Removed old pair and installed new pair, again 3 beeps. But I tested new pair on another PC, it works fine.

Do I need to do something in the BIOS or what? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Solution
Try with just new, if still problems may want to run Memtest on each to see if a bad stick, if new run fine by themselves, may be the two sets just don't want to play together, which often happens

3 Beeps means there is a RAM problem. I would recommend making sure that the RAM you bought is on the motherboards support list.
Also try updating the bios. You can find tutorials of that on youtube.

Thanks for your input. However, it still doesn't work. I get 3 long beeps and still can't boot into Windows. What else can I try?
