I am planning to place my order around the end of August and until then, I want to finalize my selections (if possible), unless something else come out on the market. In the exception of the Video card most of the other components look solid to me but want your opinion in case I made a mistake and something is not compatible with the other. Thank you in advance for your review.

I don't know about dropping the 8350, and it's kinda a big jump but downgrading the motherboard and dropping the RAM are good ideas which will save money without compromising too much performance. You can always add more RAM later.

Here we go again :) If u not plannig future CF/SLI a mobo with 970 chipset will be enough(Asus m5a97 evo r2.0 for example). U wont need 16GB ram, 8GB will be enough for anything.
Yeah u feel that right, that GTX 660 is not on the same lvl with other parts.
EVGA 02G-P4-2765-KR GTX 760 2GB is a minimum for that system.
Phanteks cooler is better imo.

For PSU: 1. SeaSonic S12II 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
2.Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
or XFX,SeaSonic in that wattage range.

I am building that pc with a mind in future.
I like components that proven to be good quality and with long warranty.
Interested on gaming 20% and production 80%
My budget is <=$1350
Hope that helps.

I read. ;) But what counts as production? Microsoft Word? Video editing? Audio encoding?

I am not interested on any video editing or audio encoding at this point but might be something to have to do in the future.

I am graduate student and use my pc mostly for school work but when I have some free time I'll like to play the latest games (especially with a new build). My goal will be that pc to last me for the next 5+ years without a need for upgrade (maybe a SLI or RAM upgrade or storage)

In addition, 16GB Ram or $80 cooler might be too much but is the best to use for a system IMO and will be downgraded if my budget cannot handle it.
