what's better for overclocking my crossfire 7970 vapor x and i7 3770k
let's say both of them had same Watts which one should i consider buying, i can buy the 1000 Watt EVGA super nova about 30$ cheaper than the seasonic 1050 watt, please experts help me here

Solution
XFX PSU is made by SeaSonic. And as I already stated, Bronze and Gold are efficiency rating. It does not equate to quality or the performance of the PSU.

the thing is i might overclock my 7970 vapor-x each to 1150-1200
which takes alot of wattage usage. but can you tell me why did you choose seasonic
may i also have more openions please ?

You still won't use more than 750-800W. What PSU calculator or what calculation did you do that says you need a kilowatt of power? What is your entire build?

And I choose SeaSonic because they are very reliable and have a very good track record to back it up. SeaSonic is arguably the best PSU manufacturer as of today.

well am overclocking my 7970 each to 1150-1200 and my i7-3770k to like 4.7-4.8, i will also put fans like others do i wont make my case lack fans and putting probably noctua 14d as it sounds the best dual fan out there and cause am scared of liquid coolers to burn my pc, i also seen that a 1205 overclocked 7970 vapor-x use about 350-400+ watts alone i forgot the site to give u calculation

i made a post here befor and i've been told that an xfx 850 watt which i wanted to get was fine and have been told it would bottleneck atleast abit also that i might want to consider gold instead of bronze

If you really want some breathing room, then 850W like @SR-71 Blackbird said. But I still say 800W is more than sufficient unless you load up on storage drives.

k to make this clear, first i dont know much about overclocking so i dont know if i would load up storage drives or not yet, i just want to overclock for increased performance. the question is would i need plus gold or bronze as i dont know the difference, two would i bottleneck as others told me ?

The Gold and Bronze are efficiency rating that measures the efficiency at which the PSU converts AC to DC. So higher efficiency means that you save more money in electric bills. In general, you only save about $2-$3 a month between a Gold and Bronze PSU assuming that the PSU is running 24/7 @50% load. So with that in mind, you can calculate how many months it will take you to pay off the difference between a Bronze and Gold PSU.

But know that there is NO direct correlation between efficiency rating and performance.

PSU do not create bottlenecks. So that question makes no sense. Either it is enough or it is not enough. You can bottleneck the PSU in a sense if you buy a kilowatt PSU and barely use 50% of it. Then the PSU is bottlenecked from optimal performance.

hey black bird would it also be enough with a brand like xfx 850 ? because bronze psu means less quality and might not last long

the thing is it's abit complicated, the store of which i want to buy from offers only 1050W-1250W seasonic, and only xfx 850 watt which is bronze, and it's even more complicated as he over price the seasonic 1050 watt abit and 1250 price is really good ( compared to their real prices ) so not only that i would have to get the 1050 watt if i want seasonic i would also have to pay an extra 15$ or so to waste and i cant get the 850W seasonic, xD ( facepalm ) comment

well am going for it then, hope my system doesn't bottleneck, but i have high hopes that it wont and incase it does i will remove these 20-30 Mhz to get it perfect :) thanks all
