Sounds like a plan If it helps, adding around 30-45% to any 1080p benchmark should serve as an approximate guide for the framerate that same hardware would deliver at 1280x1024, depending on the game (some are less impacted by resolution changes than others and those games will benefit less from the resolution drop).
Not on Crysis 3 you couldn't! But yeah only the most demanding games would need more at very low resolutions. Comparable pixel count to 1440x900 in 16:9 terms.

Pleasure Though that estimate was wrong - there's been a few threads about low resolution / high settings gaming today (also had a 1280x720 gamer, a 1366x768 and a 1600x900) and my brain got muddled! I've corrected the post now.
