Hello

I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card for Rome ii when that comes out. I don't think that my GTS 450 DDR3 (overclocked to 920mhz core and 900mhz mem) will be up to running it at respectable details at 1680x1050, especially as it is crippled by the DDR3 memory (a Geforce 6800 Ultra has more bandwidth available to it, even when the memory is overclocked to 900mhz). My budget would be about £60-£80 (I'm going to uni in September hence the low budget) and the nearer to £60 the better. I know that that territory is the GTX 650/HD7750/HD7770 area, and the HD7770 is fastest, but which one of those would be the best value for money?

Thanks for any help :)

the cpu temps are quite high for an athlon x4, i am not pretty sure but i don't think that ur processor would bottleneck even a hd7870.
Get ahd7770 if in tight budget or a gtx650ti if u can invest more. for the cpu, get an aftermarket cpu cooler like Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO which would keep the temps lower.

well the hd7770 is better than the hd7750, but within ur budget the hd7750 would be ur best bet but the hd7770's price is also too close and is more worth the money, check these:
1.HD7750-http://www.amazon.co.uk/VTX3D-Graphics-128-Bit-PCI-Express-Architecture/dp/B0078XMRF8/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1372870045&sr=1-1&keywords=hd7750

2.HD7770-http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009K274H6/?tag=pcp0f-21

I probably could stretch to get a GTX 650ti but not the boost version. Its not the fact that I don't have the money its whether I'm allowed by mum to spend £100+ on a graphics card. I'm going to uni soon and I don't have a job so I'm a bit strapped for cash and want some spare going into uni so shes not worried. Also (forgot to mention) my CPU is an Athlon 455 at 3.5ghz that can be unlocked to a quad (but only have stock cooling, the CPU was at 80 degrees but I don't know whether thats due to the core unlocker mucking the temp sensors up). Would this mean that the CPU would bottleneck anything faster than a HD7770? The HD 7750 does look tempting and runs off the PCI E slot so should help with the electricity bill, or is just that alone not a reason to choose it?
